Senior Law Project: What We Do

By Lidia G. Rincon, Esq.

The Senior Law Project originates out of Nevada Legal Services Reno office with the primary focus in serving the senior population beyond Washoe County. The Senior Law Project is committed to providing legal services to Nevadans 60 years of age and older regardless of their county of residence. By partnering with the various county senior citizens centers and the Aging and Disabilities Services Division (“ADSD”) of the Department of Health & Human Services, the Senior Law Project is reaching seniors as far east as West Wendover, Nevada. Unlike other law firms, the Senior Law Project focuses on bringing legal services to the community.

Every month, or every other month, depending on the county, a Senior Law Project attorney offers legal consultations to seniors at their local senior center. The appointments are one (1) hour in duration and are free of charge. As of the time of this publication, the counties currently on rotation are: Lyon County (Fernley, Silver Springs, Dayton and Yerington), Churchill County (Fallon), Humboldt County (Winnemucca), Elko County (Carlin, Elko, Wells, West Wendover), Eureka County
(Eureka), and White Pine County (Ely) in addition to the city of Carson City. To sign up, please contact the senior center in one of the towns mentioned here. In the alternative, if you are a senior and prefer a telephone consultation, please contact any of our Northern Nevada offices for assistance. See you on the road!
