By augmenting funding provided by a variety of federal, state, and local grants, the voluntary support we receive enables Nevada Legal Services to provide access to justice to thousands of poor and low-income people who otherwise would have nowhere else to turn for help with their legal crises — when domestic violence or housing conditions endanger their health and safety, unscrupulous landlords and scam artists threaten to turn them out of their homes, or bureaucratic error denies them their rightful access to medical care and supportive services.
NOTICE: Nevada Legal Services is funded in part by the Legal Services Corporation. As a condition of the funding it receives from LSC, it is restricted from engaging in certain activities in all of its legal work – including work supported by other funding sources. NLS may not expend any funds for any activity prohibited by the Legal Services Corporation Act 42 U.S.C. 2996 et seq or by Public Law 104-134. Public Law 104-134 requires that notice of these restrictions be given to all funders of programs funded by LSC.
