Diversity is being invited to the party; inclusion is being asked to dance. -Verna Myers, author and speaker (b. 5 Apr 1960)

This month we recognize the inclusion of all people of different talents, cultures, and unique abilities as we strive for access to equal justice for those who need it the most. At NLS, we benefit as much from serving those who need our services as those receiving them. Celebrating diversity with those of different beliefs and backgrounds invites dialogue if we don’t shy away from “the dance”. The best way to overcome our biases is to dance toward them. Easier said than done some say. But growth depends on action. Setting strict boundaries can make for a dull canvas instead of the rich tapestry we all deserve. Happy April everyone!
